Every time we start something new, it can be a project, an activity, a hobby, we put on it our best attitude and with excitement and confidence we leap to do something that we expect to enjoy and that will give us the reward, material or immaterial, which pushed us to carry it out.
Maybe someone inspired us and was our model, or maybe it is something we always wanted to do, in any case the expectations that we create and expect from ourselves are high. We want to give everything from ourselves and to get the best of this that excites and motivates to us.
In some way we loose the sense of reality to dream with the best results, the benefits and the satisfaction that brings to do something that we like and we are passionate about. And this is something essential and necessary to start because it is the engine that put us in motion to do something and to undertake anything we are interested in.
However on the other side of the story we find opposed feelings which most of the times instead of giving some balance with a little bit of common sense, they block and paralyse us, stopping us to be able to go on. These are the fears, the doubts, the resignation because of not achieving the expected result or because this come later than we want.
When we are babies and we start to walk, we fall down countless times, many of these falls hurt, so much, but none of us resigns himself to keep crawling and gives up to learn how to walk. We try once and other time more, with the help of adults, but mostly with the confidence in ourselves and the attitude to achieve it.
But this is something that we are missing as we are growing up, in fact, if we think about when we are learning to ride a bicycle, again we confront with fears and falls and maybe because we are a little bit more aware of them than when we learn to walk, many people do not want to learn it and with this begins a series of mental blocks that do not let us to try other things once and another time until we get them.
And we forget what says that: “Life is like riding a bicycle, to keep your balance you must keep moving”.
