When we are children and during our growing period, we love to imagine how are we going to be when we get older. We daydream with this person that one day, we would like to become and so, we choose these things that we want in our life.
At the adult age, this habit of visualising ourselves in the future is attenuated because the rhythm of our daily life makes us to put all our attention on whom are we today and there is almost not margin to think about who do we want to be tomorrow.
To grow up supposes to leave behind many things to give way to many others which determine our identity. At the same time that there are things which stay on us forever independently of how old are we or how much do we change.
Because, we are who we are and this is something that we cannot deny, otherwise, we can choose how are we, and we decide how do we want to be, opposite to giving up because “This is me and I cannot change it”.
No one said that it would be easy, in fact, it requires time, patience, sacrifices, effort … to become this person we dream to be. However it is not impossible, and if we try, we will get also happiness and lessons that convert us in the best version of ourselves.
We are changing constantly, today we are not the same person that we were ten or five years ago, even we are not the same we were the last year, and this the best of getting older, that each completed year means an opportunity to add new things to all the aspects in our life.
Getting older implies to know, to value, to love and to accept to yourself. To give the best to ourselves to be able to share what we are with other people.
But if there is something that gives to us real satisfaction is that, today, when we look at us in the mirror we see in the reality with our own eyes to this person that many times, when we were children, we saw in our mind with our imagination.
