Inopportune Opportunities

We spend the time complaining about the routine and the lack of excitement, waiting for something that make us feel excited and motivated, and when the life surprises to us with the opportunity to choose, to change, to grow up, to improve, we are afraid to unknown things, to lose the control, to not to know what is happening if we leave our comfort zone to sign onto a new adventure, in which, surely, we will become stronger. Because of that, our mind is blocked and we have doubts about everything we want and we feel, and what previously was unbearable, now it is not that bad, and the hope of changes becomes in uncertainty.

Life is capricious because when we cannot expect it, sets out these situations in which we have to put our values on the table and to apply everything we have learnt in previous lessons, to prove our maturity and that we really know what we want. It is its way of try us out, for us to ask ourselves who are we and what are we made of.

And we, instead of enjoying and learning from the experience, get stressed and we want it be solved by itself and the situation ends as soon as posible without appreciate that these are the things that enrich our growth and personal knowledge. Well after all, when the decision is made and we have our life “under control”, we think about it and with perspective we realize that it was not that difficult and that in essence we knew which was the right decision.

During the process of election, before making a decision, we analyze the conditions, we consider the consequences and we think about what is more benefitial for us, however, when finally we make a decision, we are deciding moved by our feelings without caring about how rational is our choice, all in all we use our intuitive intelligence which shows the answer based on what we are.

Fortunately, these situations in which we have to make important and transcendent decisions, are happening continuously and with it every time it is easier to choose, not because the decision is simple, it is easier because each time we know ourselves better and our values and principles are stronger.

However, we cannot expect that this is going to happen in a predictable way, because life likes to surprise us when we do not expect it, for us to experiment the excitement that the surprise entails.
